Creating a fringe

Creating a fringe

Equipment

·         Feathers

·         Lace

·         Pipecleaners

·         Bobby pins

·         Sequin strip

Method

1.       Firstly I pin curled the front of my models hair so I could have an anchor point to pin my accessories into.

2.       I then decided to go for red and black theme flapper style, I added some red feathers into a point that layered over the hair.  I pinned those with bobby pins and made sure they were well hidden.

3.       I rolled up a piece of my black lace and secured it in the middle of the head where the parting would be.

4.       I rolled up a pipe cleaner into a kiss curl shape and pushed that underneath one of the anchor points so I know it would stay in place.

5.       Lastly for a bit of texture, I added a strip of sequins by the pincurl just to jazz up my design.
It was nice working with other products instead of just hair as I could play around with what looks good and what doesn’t.  It also helped me create a design for another project.  My culture didn't usually have fringes, so I just designed something as I went along and did what I thought looked good.
