Knotting a square piece

Equipment

·         Coloured paper

·         Pins

·         Wig lace

·         Wig block

·         Hair weft

·         Bowl of water

·         Knotting hook and handle

Method

1.       Pin the lace very tight onto the wig block

2.       Slide the coloured cardboard between the lace and wig block and pin in place if necessary, this is so it is easier to see the hair weft through the lace.

3.       Now, gather a few strands of the hair weft and loop them and dip them in some water, this makes them easier for the hook to grab.

4.       Use the hook to grab one strand of hair, pull it through one of the holes in the lace, hook up, round and back through itself.  Then pull away the hair weft.

I didn’t really enjoy making the knotted piece as I found it really tricky, it was very intricate and I could only manage a few knots before I got a headache.
