Hair cast

Making a hair cast

Equipment

·         Cling film

·         Water

·         Cellotape

·         comb

·         Marker pen

Method

1.       Once you have chosen your partner, decide if your wig is going to have a side or middle parting.

2.       Use the water spray and comb to slick the hair away from the forehead, making sure you catch all side burns and baby hairs.

3.       Tear off a long piece of cling film, big enough to go over your models hairline and ears.  Stretch this over the forehead and ask them to keep it tight.

4.       Using the marker pen, draw small lines where the hair would be on the cling film, and outline the ear also.  Be sure to write their name on the top too.

5.       Lastly, using small pieces of cellotape, apply this over the marker pen so it forms a stronger shell for the hair cast.  It also prevents the marker pen from rubbing off.

I found it quite easy and simple to create the hair cast, next time I will just use a thinner marker pen.
